This Linux Systems Engineer position is with one of the most beloved eCommerce firms in the US. The Engineer will be a vital member of the team in helping to support a large scale distributed storage environment. Working with peers, this person will also help in the evaluation, design and implementation of future data storage systems as well as troubleshooting network and storage reliability availability and performance issues.
You will be leading and managing projects.
Here's what we need:
Linux based production environment experience (RH/Centos)
Hands on automation and tool building with one or more: Perl, Ruby, Shell, Python, etc.
Open source experience
Experience managing and performing detailed capacity planning for large, high volume web sites
Comfortable with some of the following: Apache, Squid, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, Cleversafe
Some SAN/NAS/FC experience is a big plus
Strong verbal and written skills as this is a very visible position working with key stakeholders
In short we need a Linux Engineer with scripting experience who understands the needs of large scale web environments.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
