Company Description Job Description Director Actuary--Government Programs Pricing (bz21305)- Oregon - Portland Minimum Requirements Bachelor s Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, economics, computer science or an equivalent field, and a minimum of ten years of health actuarial experience with five years in a an actuarial leadership role.
Demonstrated proven ability to perform and manage complex tasks without management assistance and influence without authority to drive strategic projects for the company.
Demonstrated success with project management.
High degree of business acumen within finance, accounting, economics and risk management.
Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, database).
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registration, Etc.
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries in good standing.
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in good standing or experience, skills, and credentials deemed equivalent by management.
(Minimum of ASA but FSA is preferred).
General Functions and Outcomes Responsible for determining the relationship of risks.
Determines factors, formulas, and characteristics of risks as they relate to the markets in which the products are sold.
Determines and directs the development of appropriate rating models to achieve financial and membership goals.
Responsible for corporate profitability by prudent management of risk.
Performs high level complex actuarial tasks, including the complicated renewals and forecasts.
May assist with new product development, renewals and filings.
Applies a thorough understanding of regulatory (both state and federal) agency policies and procedures and assists in interpreting legislation and regulations.
Serves as subject matter expert internally and externally, and actively works to continually enhance the credibility of Regence s actuarial division in support of Regence strategic goals.
