Position Description General Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for directorate level process improvements.
:
Develops baseline metrics/Key Performance Indicators, and complex systems/proposals.
:
Works with management on performance targets and recommends action plans designed to reduce defects, reduce lead time, improve quality, and reduce cost associated with operations.
Essential Functions:
:
Uses lean six sigma methodology to define, measure, analyze, and control a process.
:
Will be able to initiate most projects without direction by following an established strategy developed by senior management and complete all financial calculations to prove the necessity of the initiated projects.
:
Creates measurement tools to track performance and improvement sustainment.
:
Works cross functionally on solutions to improve efficiency, schedule, reduce cost, and improve quality through 5S, continuous flow, work cells, kaizen, variability reduction, and other methods.
:
Will be able to direct multi:
million dollar cost savings projects with budget authority by leading cross:
functional teams.
Secondary Functions:

Will develop reports for senior management on multiple project statuses.

May teach Lean Six Sigma courses up to Black Belt.

Work will require limited supervision.
Position Requirements Required Education, Experience and Technical Competencies:
:
B.
S.
degree or the equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Industrial Management or a related field.
:
With a B.
S.
degree, a minimum of eight years of experience in Lean Six Sigma implementation is required.
With a M.
S.
degree, a minimum of six years related experience is required.
:
Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and has mastered Lean Six Sigma implementation, statistics, and software packages designed for modeling and capacity analysis.
:
Project Management Certificate is required.
:
APICS certification desirable.
