Responsibilities:
The inflammation department at Gilead is looking for accomplished scientist to join the group as a scientist and lab manager.
The candidate needs to have sufficient hands-on experience for basic technologies in inflammation, fibrosis, molecular biology or cell biology and superior lab operational knowledge.
The candidate will collaborate with other scientists to perform bench-top research for understanding the disease pathogenesis and translational studies.
In addition, the candidate will lead the efforts of lab operation in the department.
The successful candidate will work closely with 50
lab members, lab operations, EHS, Facilities, IT and others to ensure smooth functioning of our modern lab space.
Gilead Sciences is a world leader in antiviral research having developed small molecule compounds that have revolutionized the treatment of HIV, HCV, and HBV.
Over the last 5 years, Gilead has significantly broadened its scope to encompass unmet medical needs in inflammatory and chronic fibrotic diseases.
Qualifications and requirements:
Applicants must have a Bachelor degree plus 15 years laboratory experience in industry, a Master degree plus 10 years industry experience, or a PhD or equivalent degree plus 5 years of laboratory experience in industry.
Relevant experience in immunology, fibrotic or autoimmune diseases is encouraged to apply.
Laboratory operational experience is preferred.
Strong communication skills and collaboration spirit are required.
The salary range for this position is:
$143,225.
00 - $185,350.

Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
