Foster City, CA Foster City, CA Full-time Full-time $70,000 - $80,000 a year $70,000 - $80,000 a year 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago The Crowne Plaza Hotel located in Foster City - San Mateo is looking for an energetic, team oriented Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to join our team with primary responsibilities to oversee the banquet department.
Prior banquet experience is preferred for this position.
Our property is a very busy 4-star, 353 room hotel with 3 food & beverage outlets and a well-known Sports Bar/Night Club.
The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of banquets and supporting the onsite restaurant and bar, as well as assisting with our very popular Sunday Brunch, reporting to the F&B Director.
He or she will lead their team through their daily tasks as well as interact with guests to ensure that each guest has a satisfactory and memorable experience.
Summary of Duties and
Responsibilities:
Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, employees and managers in multiple Food & Beverage operations and outlets to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control while focusing on creative revenue generation solutions to maximize profit.
The Assistant Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for assisting in the direction and organization of activities and services of all hotel banquet and food and beverage outlets (restaurants, lounges, room service), in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
The ability to be visible in the operation, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests as well as cultivate relationships with new patrons.
Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and delivering recognition and reward The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality.
Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
Performs all reasonable duties requested by management.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
Qualifications:
College degree/Hospitality Certifications preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Three to five years previous experience in multiple food & beverage department head positions.
Passionate about food & beverage.
Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation, weekend night club and holidays.
